MBBS In Nepal

MBBS- Bechelor of Medicine , Bechelor of Surgery

Nestled in the majestic Himalayas, Nepal has become one of the most sought-after destinations for MBBS abroad, steadily growing in importance. As a developing nation, it offers immense opportunities for social and economic growth, along with unique academic advantages.

Nepal boasts 1800+ medical seats across 5 Government and 15 Private medical colleges. According to the Medical Education Commission (MEC) of Nepal, approximately 540 seats are reserved for international students. However, securing a seat in a Government Medical College requires qualifying through the MEC examination. For admission to private medical institutions in Nepal, qualifying in the current year’s NEET exam is mandatory.

Why choose Nepal for MBBS studies?

At Path Mentor, we believe Nepal is one of the most promising destinations for Indian students aspiring to become doctors. Here’s why:

1️⃣ Similar Education Pattern – The MBBS curriculum in Nepal closely matches India’s, covering all 19 subjects across Pre, Para, and Clinical studies. The course duration is 5.5 years, just like in India.

2️⃣ High FMGE Passing Rate – Many MCI-approved colleges in Nepal have consistently recorded one of the highest FMGE success ratios compared to other countries.

3️⃣ Experienced Indian Faculty – Most medical colleges in Nepal have Indian professors, making it easier for Indian students to adapt and excel.

4️⃣ Affordable Education – While tuition fees are similar to Indian private colleges, studying in Nepal offers higher academic value and an established medical education system.

5️⃣ Easy Communication – With Hindi widely understood, students face no language barrier—unlike in countries such as Russia, China, or Georgia.

6️⃣ Indian-Style Food – Nepalese cuisine is very similar to Indian food, ensuring students feel right at home.

7️⃣ Seamless Connectivity – Well-connected to India by road and air, Nepal does not require a visa for Indian citizens.
